H A V A N A

In traveling to Cuba, I was hoping to experience a time warp, and oh how Havana delivered!

Old colorful cars and colonial mansions in peeling pastel palettes abound, at least for now. I traveled with my film camera, which felt like a fitting nod to the vintage veneer around me; my camera technology was practically the same age as some of the cars and TV sets I was compulsively photographing. This version of Cuba, an island seemingly suspended in time, won't last forever. Many of these symbols of Cuba, vestiges of the past, may soon be replaced by the trappings of new era, and the Cuban residents we met seemed excited about the prospect of progress. For now, these sights and colors delight me to no end...
